Who We Are

The Youth Engagement Service is made up of highly skilled Youth Engagement Workers (YEWs) with backgrounds in youth work and careers advice. Although we work mostly with young people that are referred from other people, like schools or social workers, young people can ask for help too.  We work in four localities across Swindon, so YEWs will be working with young people in their own homes or in the community.

What We Do

Youth Engagement Workers (YEWs) support young people aged 16-18 that are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), or might become NEET, that have no support from other professionals or agencies.  YEWs support young people to find apprenticeships, jobs, education or training courses that set them on a road to the careers they want to have.

Who The Service is For

YEWs work with:

  • Young people age 16-18 who are not in education, employment or training, or might become not in education, employment or training, who have no identified support from other professionals/agencies.
  • Young people in year 11 who have no plan and no support from other professionals/agencies for after they finish year 11.
  • Young people in care aged 16 – 18, who have no plan & no support from other professionals/agencies.
