YES

THE YOUTH ENGAGEMENT SERVICE HAVE A

FACEBOOK PAGE JUST FOR YOU!

It contains the most up to date information, advice and guidance on all Education, Employment and Training (EET) opportunities available within Swindon.

Most Youth Engagement Workers (YEWs) have a professional Facebook profile and use them with great success in engaging with young people, particularly those most hard to reach by traditional means.  They maintain the Facebook page, which is a live and interactive feed and post the most up to date information on local job opportunities, apprenticeships and training courses, in addition to links to all the main colleges, training providers and local events such as JobFest ’16.

They also post on a great number of other issues such as sexual health, substance misuse, housing and benefits.  Young people are able to message them via the page directly to access their service and the site information also includes a detailed description of who they are and what they do, including locality addresses, emails and phone numbers. Whilst young people move addresses and change phone numbers, regularly, their Facebook profiles remain constant as a way of them staying connected to their peers.
