Swindon Carers provides support and advice to all carers throughout Swindon.

It supports unpaid carers across the Borough:

  • By promoting mutual support, social contact and access to services.
  • Through its Carers Support Line – available for carers to call, to ensure they get the right help, guidance and advice in their caring role.
  • Through 1:1 support – the carer completes their Carer’s Assessment and talks through their situation either face-to-face or by telephone.
  • By providing specialist benefit checks for carers in Swindon, ensuring the carer and their dependant are getting the correct level of benefits.
  • Through help with accessing funding, if eligible.
  • By linking carers to its carer groups and activities, or those run by other local organisations.
  • By giving carers access to breaks and complementary therapies, training sessions and self-help groups
  • By offering bereavement support following the death of the carer’s dependant.
  • Through its Emergency Card scheme – helping the carer to make a plan so that their dependant can be cared for in the event that the carer falls ill or has an accident.

Swindon Carers Centre recognises that different carers have different situations, and offers a range and type of support unique to each carer.
